SEOUL – The PBA team competition, in the Korean professional league, will reach the end of its first tour in the coming days. The top positions have changed, because Rent-a car, the former champion with Eddy Leppens, Dong Koong Kang and Orie Hida, was the glorious winner in the top match against Welcome Savings Bank (Sánchez/Sayginer) 4-0! Belgian Eddy Leppens sealed the fate of the dethroned leader.

The match between the two top-three teams was sensational. Eddy Leppens defeated Semih Sayginer with runs of 6 and 7 in the last two innings (15-9) and Leppens was also the star player in the doubles with Dinh-nai Ngo against Sánchez and Sayginer. Leppens started the match and finished straight away from the start with 11: 11-0. Because Rent-a-car also won the other doubles matches 9-7 and 9-2, the scoreboard showed a comfortable 4-0.

Rent-a-car now leads the ranking with 14 points, followed by Crown Hatai (Jae-guen Kim, David Martinez, Natsumi Higashiuchi) with 11 points, Welcome Savings Bank with 10 and Hana Card with 9 points.

The next matches are decisive for the final score in the first round. This Tuesday, Rent-a-car plays Hana Play and on Wednesday against Crown Hatai.
